Warren R. Heymann, MD, of Marlton, NJ, has been named President of the American Board of Dermatology’s Board of Directors.
Anna L. Bruckner, MD, of Aurora, CO, has been named Vice President of the Board of Directors.
Their terms are July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026. Both have served on the ABD Board of Directors since 2017. They succeed Tammie C. Ferringer, MD, of Danville, PA, who served as Board President from July 2024 – June 2025.

Dr. Heymann practices at HMGS Dermatology in Marlton. Additionally, he is a professor of medicine and pediatrics, and head emeritus of the Division of Dermatology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. He is a clinical professor of dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is certified by the ABD in dermatology, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology and participates in continuing certification.

Dr. Bruckner is a professor of dermatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Anschutz Medical Campus. She is certified by the ABD in general dermatology and in pediatric dermatology and participates in continuing certification.
At Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, she treats children with a range of skin problems. Her areas of expertise include atopic dermatitis (eczema), epidermolysis bullosa and other genetic skin disorders, and vascular birthmarks.
Customarily, Directors serve three 3-year terms on the ABD Board. One or two new directors are added each year as others rotate off. Those selected serve as directors-elect for one year, participating in discussions but not voting.
In June, the Board of Directors elected two certified dermatologists -- Andrea Murina, MD, and Erin Mathes, MD -- to serve as directors-elect for a year before joining the Board as voting members.
Dr. Murina is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Program Director at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. She directs the dermatology clinics at the University Medical Center in New Orleans. She began her volunteer service to the ABD in 2016, serving on the inaugural Focused Practice Improvement Workgroup, and continued in 2020 as an Item Writer for the General Dermatology committee.
Dr. Mathes is a pediatric dermatologist in San Francisco, CA. She is affiliated with Stanford Hospital and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. She began her volunteer service to the ABD in 2016, serving on the inaugural Focused Practice Improvement Workgroup, and continued in 2020 as an Item Writer and Exam Development Council member for the Pediatric Dermatology committee.
Additionally, Olayemi (Yemi) Sokumbi, MD, of Jacksonville, FL, rotated onto the Board as a voting member after completing a year as Director-elect. She is a Professor of Dermatology and Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. She currently serves as Medical Director for the Department of Business Development at Mayo Clinic Florida and Director of Clinical Practice in the Department of Dermatology.
The new officers and members-elect begin their terms July 1, 2025.
